Families and friends can pay a huge price when a loved one chooses to launch a new business. When that decision is made in a vacuum, without input from loved ones, it can lead to destroyed marriages and relationships.

In a Wall Street Journal article titled “The Ethical Challenges Facing Entrepreneurs,” a venture capitalist recommends aspiring entrepreneurs to discuss the realities of a start-up venture with their families. He believes launching a new business should be a family decision, otherwise the family conflicts that may arise can divert the focus needed to succeed.

Ephesians 5:25 teaches, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her.”
