Obviously, they are willing to work for that amount. But they may feel they are worth more pay.
As an employer who desires to shepherd your people well, this information does raise a possible concern. You may now have a new employee who feels undervalued.
In Ezekiel 34:2, the Lord says, “Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?”
Budget constraints are important, but when hiring someone new you may need to be more sensitive to those people who aren’t negotiating. How would you feel in their situation?
