In the last year, we’ve had three different government stimulus payments approved. These checks are an unexpected windfall.
Many of these payments get deposited automatically into bank accounts. Many faithful givers have systems in place for tithing to their church or giving into their donor advised funds from their pay.
But when they receive a windfall, how many pause to remember that they just received a blessing from God? Doesn’t God deserve acknowledgment of that generosity through our tithes and offerings as well?
James 1:17 teaches, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights.”
Whether it’s stimulus payments or an unexpected sale, every good gift comes from God and He is worthy of our tithes and offerings in response.
