As a teenager, I worked on my uncle’s farm. In his small town there was a grocery store, a gas station, a lumber yard, a grain elevator, a restaurant, and three churches.

This town only has 130 people now with no downtown businesses remaining. There is hope, however.

My cousin breeds a specialty type of cattle and has leveraged the internet to sell his expensive cows. He now employs family members and friends and has given this small community hope.

Proverbs 24:14 says, “Know also that wisdom is like honey for you: If you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”

Creative wisdom and entrepreneurial spirit can bring hope to an entire community. Don’t let gloomy circumstances steal your hope.
