Mary was new to the audit department in which I was working at the time. It quickly became obvious that Mary was trouble.

Mary set her sights on eliminating our boss with the hope of attaining his role for herself! She began gossiping, spreading lies and insults, and causing many conflicts. Our workplace became stressful and unpleasant as the tension in the office rose.

Finally, our boss realized what needed to be done. He fired Mary. The result was immediate. Our workplace became more relaxed and peaceful. No one missed Mary.

Proverbs 22:10 teaches, “Drive out the mocker, and out goes strife; quarrels and insults are ended.”

If you have a mocker or troublemaker in your midst, your workplace will only get more stressful. Dismiss them sooner rather than later.
