Martin Luther King Jr. inspired millions with his work on the civil rights movement, and he also provided wisdom for the workplace. For instance, Dr. King once said, “Whatever your life’s work is, do it well. A man should do his job so well that the living, the dead, and the unborn could do it no better.”

He also once wrote, “All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence.”

The Psalmist wrote in Psalm 90:17, “May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands.”

As we celebrate Dr. King today, let’s heed his reminder to do our work with excellence and trust God for His favor.
