We had a dinner meeting scheduled in Saint Louis County with some out-of-town guests. My wife, Kathy, called a restaurant to inquire about making a reservation.
The young hostess told Kathy that the County had just ordered all restaurants to close dine-in service. But, they had decided to “stick it to the man” and to remain open.
I understand fighting for the survival of your business, while I also suspect the County Executive felt he was doing what was best for the community. The tension makes for difficult business decisions.
Romans 13:2 proclaims, “Whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.”
There are times for civil disobedience, but carefully consider God’s perspective before taking that action.
