When President Abraham Lincoln was asked if God was on the side of the “Union” he reportedly said, “Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.”
In the business world we are constantly making tough decisions and it may be easy to beg God to join us in our battle, rather than stopping to ponder whether or not we’re on God’s side of the issue.
In Joshua 5, Joshua was confronted by an angel with a sword in hand. Joshua asked, “Are you for us or for our adversaries?” He said, “No; rather I indeed come now as captain of the host of the Lord.”
We need to prayerfully ask and seek God’s agenda, not ours.
