Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
If you are in a tricky situation at work resist the temptation to slander or quarrel. Take the high road because:
- If you live in a stable community where people aren’t moving all the time, most people know most people. The person you’re slandering could be someone’s cousin or best friend.
- Quarreling with or slandering someone’s character creates a toxic workplace and says more about you than them.
What’s the lesson? Replace the desire to quarrel, exaggerate, and spread stories with gentleness and humility.
The Apostle Paul said in Titus 3:2, “They must not slander anyone and must avoid quarreling. Instead, they should be gentle and show true humility to everyone.”
Jesus said if you want to be great, be humble. Humility can eliminate workplace slander and quarrels.
