At 24 years old, Liz Wiseman was surprisingly asked to develop Oracle University from scratch. Through that experience, Liz discovered four principles that can help people overcome what she calls the “Knowledge Trap.”
The second principle is to “Admit what you don’t know.” Many people who have experience in their industry are afraid to allow others to know that their knowledge has limits.
By refusing to acknowledge what we don’t know, we limit the questions we might ask and the knowledge that others may be able to add to our knowledge base.
Philippians 2:3 teaches, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,”
Pride can prevent us from admitting what we don’t know, but humbly asking questions of others can lead us to increased knowledge.
