A recent luncheon event was off to a good start. But as people began to finish their salad, I noticed that no lunches were being served. Our program was about to start and there were no meals in sight!
Our guests were eventually served, but the delay caused some anxiety for our team, as well as for the hotel’s staff. I later learned that I had signed contracts that said our event was from 12-2:00, instead of our normal 11:00-1:00.
Due to my error, the hotel wasn’t prepared at our normal lunch time. This small miscommunication caused great anxiety to an otherwise great event.
Ecclesiastes 5:6 says, “Do not let your speech cause you to sin…”
Paying attention to details, and having people check your work can help prevent painful miscommunications.
