In Harvard Business Review, Susan Peppercorn highlighted five questions to help you retain your employees. Today I want to talk about her third question, “What do you need from me to do your best work?

Employees need to know that you are there to serve them. By giving your employee the opportunity to share what is hindering their progress, you build trust and show you care.

Even if your team member cannot think of anything, they will appreciate your offer and feel free to ask later when something does surface.

1 Timothy 3:13 says, “Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus.”

As a boss, view your job as serving your employees. Your servant’s heart will pay dividends.
