Part of our son’s struggle in life is with obsessive-compulsive disorder. He’s been known to go through an entire bottle of shampoo during one shower if not monitored.
He knows that it’s wasteful, but he seems to have trouble with self-control. Jeremy believes something bad will happen if he doesn’t empty the bottle of shampoo!
Many of us as leaders have obsessions that can drive others crazy. Obsessing towards our idea of perfection can become the enemy of God’s idea of excellence.
Titus 2 teaches, “For the grace of God … teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.”
If you suspect you have some unhealthy obsessions, exercise self-control and take comfort in the grace of God.
