Some doubt President Nixon even knew about Watergate before it happened. But his lies and deception made the cover up far more harmful than the Watergate break-in itself, destroying his presidency.
King David knew about sin and cover ups. In Psalm 32:5, we read, “Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.” And you forgave the guilt of my sin.”
If you’re caught in a sin, acknowledge it and confess. Don’t make it worse by covering it up.
