Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

As we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, I’m highlighting some foundational pillars for business that our Founding Fathers established. The final pillar for our discussion is religious freedom.

Centralized control over ideas was not uncommon to our Founders. From the beginning, freedom was a driving force behind many of our forefathers coming to America.

The first amendment to the Constitution addresses freedom of speech and religion, reflecting how important it was to our Founders. This bold proclamation allowed for freedom of thought, ideas, and innovation.

2 Corinthians 3:17 says, “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

God desires us to live in freedom. For entrepreneurs, freedom of religion and speech is critical and foundational for starting and growing businesses.
