Today is Maundy Thursday. On the night of the Last Supper, Jesus, the Son of God, modeled for us a surprising act.
In ancient times, Maundy, which means, “washing someone’s dirty feet,” was one of the worst jobs a servant could be asked to complete. Yet, on Jesus’ last night, He humbled himself and washed the feet of his disciples! Imagine their surprise at Jesus’ servant heart.
Many business leaders are not known for servant leadership. In John 13, Jesus said, “Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.”
Ponder today how you might humbly serve those at work who typically assist you.
