Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx

Over the last few years, Hillsong, IHOP, Gateway Church, and now Bethel have had significant leadership failures. Even worse, these churches often covered up the extent of the damage done, rather than warn and shepherd the victims.
Recently, it was discovered that Bethel Church had allowed Shawn Bolz to prophesy at Bethel for many years, while he was involved in sexually deviant behavior. In addition, his prophecies were often from Facebook, not God.
Bethel didn’t bother to warn or protect their congregation. This misstep has undermined Bethel’s reputation.
Proverbs 11:3 says, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”
Businesses, like churches, need to have the integrity to admit their mistakes promptly, rather than perpetuate a cover up that undermines their reputation.
