My mentor was tired of listening to me complain about an issue. She handed me a pen and notepad and said, "Write down this issue and put it in a safe place. Then, a year from now, pull it out and see if it is still worth worrying about."
I didn't do that, because she had already made her point. I was fixated on something that wouldn't be an issue a week from then, let alone in a year.
Psalm 90:2 says, "Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God."
God invites us to see our work through his eternal lens. When we do, we can focus our work on what will matter most in eternity.
