Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx

After a promotion, Quentin found himself in charge of an entire department, overseeing a large budget and more than thirty people. He took this good fortune personally and regularly communicated his esteemed place in the organization. He began talking pridefully all the time about “my team.” It rubbed people the wrong way because Quentin was erroneously communicating his personal ownership, missing the lesson of Deuteronomy 8:17-18:
“You may say to yourself, ‘My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.’ But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth…”
We place work in proper context when we embrace it as an opportunity to steward the resources provided by God, their true owner.
