A 2022 Barna research study found that 56 percent of respondents said their faith is a private matter.
But scripture calls us to live and work in community. From Adam and Eve, to Jesus and his disciples, to the faith communities Paul encouraged, the Bible shows the importance of communion with others.
The writer of Ecclesiastes described it like this: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
We may envision our work as something we do on our own. But we can only achieve true success when we do our work with others.
