The store clerk was clearly having a challenging day as she rang up my purchase. I handed her a $20 bill, and she counted out my change. But I noticed that she gave me an extra five dollars.
“I think you gave me too much back,” I said, handing the bill to her.
If she was flustered before, she was completely disoriented now.
“No one has ever done that before,” she said.
I tried to make light of it and said, “well, you probably never miscounted change before!”
2 Corinthians 8:21 tell us, “For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.”
Never underestimate the power of your witness when you act with integrity toward another person.
