Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

Nehemiah’s vision for rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem is only two verses long, but it identifies four elements helpful to us in our own vision casting opportunities. The third element is to “make an emotional appeal.”

People typically get behind a project based on their emotional connection to the project.

In Nehemiah 2:17, Nehemiah said, “You see the bad situation we are in, that Jerusalem is desolate and its gates burned by fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that we will no longer be a reproach.”

Nehemiah appealed emotionally by reminding them they were in a bad situation that had been a reproach to them.

If you are casting vision, look for why your audience should care and appeal to them on an emotional level.
