God desires us to work, to tend to His creation, and serve His people. Author Tom Lutz recently said in a Common Good magazine interview, “Christianity is the only religion where work is part of paradise.”
Although I would include Judaism, I think most people would be shocked to know that we will work in Heaven.
In Isaiah 65, God describes what it will be like for His people to live in the new heavens and earth. In verse 21 we read, “They will build houses and dwell in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit… my chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands.”
When you struggle with meaning and purpose, remember God has a day planned when work is enjoyable. Why not start now?
