According to Baylor University’s “National Survey of Work, Entrepreneurship and Religion,” churches would be more fruitful if they emphasized the integration of faith and work. The survey revealed that “full-time workers who regularly attend a congregation that highlights faith at work, experience higher job satisfaction and job commitment.”
Very few churches spend much time teaching their members to apply scripture to their workplace issues in a relevant way. This sends a subtle message that work doesn’t matter to God, other than to produce tithes and offerings.
Colossians 3:23 teaches, “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.”
While Labor Day is still fresh in mind, encourage your pastor to equip you for the 45% or more of your waking hours spent at work.
