If you come to our home, you will see over our front door a scripted Bible verse. Psalm 37:4 says, "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."
I love the tension and mystery of the two different ends of this passage.
In my 20s, the desire of my heart was wealth. In my 60s, it has become the desire to equip one million business leaders to practice applying God's Word to their workplace.
Delight means to "greatly please." In my 20s, I wanted to greatly please myself with wealth, but over time God has shaped me to want to delight Him, resulting in my desires being more closely aligned with God's desires.
Who or what are you delighting yourself in these days?
