A friend of mine is a Dean of a business school. Recently, he shared with me that one of his more common problems with freshmen students is plagiarism.
When he asks his students to write an essay, it’s become common for some of them to turn in a paper that was produced for them online. What troubles my friend the most is that many of these students don’t even view this practice as wrong when they are caught cheating.
Using smartphones to solve problems is so common today that many don’t seem to understand that claiming Google’s work as your own is deception.
Leviticus 19:11 reminds us, “Do not steal. “‘Do not lie. “‘Do not deceive one another.”
As leaders, we may need to clarify our ethical standards for younger generations.
