The Biblical story of Joseph offers a different response to setbacks. When he was falsely accused and sent to prison, Joseph chose not bitterness but service. The prison warden saw Joseph’s potential and put him in charge of jail operations. Genesis 39:23 says, “The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care, because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did.”
When we invariably experience setbacks, we have choices for how to respond. Serving God in the midst of our challenges ministers to others and may create opportunities for us.
