When I was 25 years old, I started a car rental agency from scratch. Interest rates and unemployment were skyrocketing at that time, but I still believed I could overcome all odds to be successful.

One year later, I sold the cars to pay off my debts and left the car rental industry forever. The lessons I learned, however, prepared me for the future.

I learned that customer’s desires are not always the same as mine. I also learned that marketing is much more complex than I ever imagined.

Proverbs 24:16 teaches, “For a righteous man falls seven times, and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity.”

Failure can be a great teacher, if we are resilient enough to learn and rise again from the lessons learned.
