As a teenager, when I worked on my uncle’s farm, I marveled at the number of stars I could see at night in contrast to living in the city. The majesty of God’s universe seemed more evident than what many of us are accustomed to when we live and work in urban settings.

With a growing number of people in our culture who doubt that a God exists, it can be challenging to have a fruitful spiritual discussion in the workplace. Remembering King David’s observation in Psalm 19 may help.

In Psalm 19:1 David wrote, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”

Sometimes just asking nonbelievers how they account for the heavens and the sky can prompt them to consider God’s heavenly declaration.
