Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

In most meetings, there’s one person in the room who everyone recognizes as high value.  They speak, and the entire room listens.

To become this type of person of influence, here are four critical practices:

  1. Be concise. Speak only when you have something meaningful to say.
  2. Be attentive. Actively listen and engage the other attendees with non-verbal communication.
  3. Ask questions. Do not fear looking foolish by asking probing questions to bring clarification.
  4. Follow through. Be known as a person who is counted on.

In Matthew 5 Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth”…and “You are the light of the world.”

Being salt and light is the perfect metaphor for being a person of influence. Both are subtle but represent clarity, new ideas, and ingenuity.
