Your enemies have no need to bother you when you’re failing, but when you’re experiencing success, look out. Nehemiah experienced some significant success on his project of rebuilding Jerusalem.
As he neared completion, his enemies tried everything they could think of to distract or destroy Nehemiah. On multiple occasions, Nehemiah’s enemies tried to draw him out to harm him.
But Nehemiah consistently had a similar response. In Nehemiah 6:3 we read, “So I sent messengers to them with this reply: “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?”
If you’re experiencing success, be on guard and discerning. The enemy may try to distract and destroy your work. Like Nehemiah, just say no.
