Vanessa Bohns, a Cornell professor, discovered that most people believe the means of communicating a request makes little difference. But, according to the Wall Street Journal, Vanessa discovered that face-to-face requests fared dramatically better than email.
Her research found that strangers were 34 times more likely to say yes to a face-to-face request than to an emailed request.
In another study, eighty percent of the friends asked to help with a proofreading task agreed when asked in person, but only 29% agreed when asked by email.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:8, “For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Even if Jesus could, I doubt that He would have used email. Relationships, and face-to-face requests matter.
