My wife, Kathy, enjoys playing flute in a local band for 50+ adults. At her winter concert I witnessed bands ranging from an introductory high school band to a polished ensemble of volunteer musicians.
This contrast revealed how a good team can cover for each other’s mistakes. The more experienced bands made any errors barely noticeable as the occasional mistakes were overshadowed by their skilled peers.
Romans 12 teaches, “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
In business, we need to hire and train team members that collectively have the diverse strengths to overshadow the occasional mistakes made by the individual.
