Prior to the Jewish people entering a period of about 400 years with no new written words from God, Daniel was given a vision of what evil was to come. But the Jews had to know God to have the wisdom to resist the evil that was coming, not just know of God.
In Daniel 11, an angel shared with Daniel about a future wicked king. In verse 32, we read, “With flattery he will corrupt those who have violated the covenant, but the people who know their God will firmly resist him.”
Flattery can be used for evil in the marketplace. If you don’t know God, you can be easily deceived.
Studying God’s Word and communicating with God regularly, until you know God, is the best defense against flattery.
