The book of Nehemiah has some great insights about Nehemiah’s career transition that may be helpful to us today. The third phase of Nehemiah’s transition was preparation and planning.
When God provided the opportunity for Nehemiah to speak to the king about his passion for Jerusalem, Nehemiah was prepared.
In Nehemiah 2:7 we read, “If it please the king, let letters be given me for the governors of the provinces beyond the River, that they may allow me to pass through until I come to Judah, and a letter to Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber…”
If you feel a career transition is in the works, don’t squander God-given opportunities. Prepare and plan for what you might need to do in the future.
