For family reasons, a CEO needed a lengthy sabbatical. He had already chosen a successor for his organization, so he turned the reins over to this successor for several months.

When the CEO returned to work, he shockingly discovered that his previous goals and efforts had been scrapped for a brand-new vision. His successor ignored the past and the founder’s instructions, and charged ahead with his own agenda, destroying the business.

In business, many do the same to God. They ignore God’s agenda to pursue their own.

Being a godly leader requires that we listen and obey God.

Jesus said in John 10:27, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”

If you truly desire God to be your CEO, pause, listen, and then obey.
